I don’t like the defeatist proclamation made by many Christian teachers today that as long as we are in this flesh we are obviously going to sin. That is NOT the right way to look at it at all, the correct way to look at it is this: as long as we are in this flesh we are going to be subject to *temptation*, whether or not we give into temptation and sin is completely up to us and a choice that we make.

As Christians, God has equipped us and empowered us to resist *every single* temptation and walk in the Spirit, but it’s up to us to trust him and walk in faith. The more that we learn to resist temptation, buffet the body and walk in the Spirit, the more that we grow in holiness and the less that temptation will have a hold on us and trip us up. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him (James 1:12).
